INTIMACY COORDINATOR PREP PROCESS

  • Break down script to identify scenes of intimacy, nudity or simulated sex

  • Meet the director to discuss the creative vision for any scenes of intimacy

  • Relay the directors vision to actors and discuss how we might achieve this

  • Discuss boundaries, nudity riders, modesty garments and barrier options

  • Communicate with costume, hair, make up, props (as needed)

  • Communicate with AD team to discuss closed set protocols (as needed)

  • Touch base with the legal department to discuss nudity rider wording

  • Prepare risk assessment

  • Prep kit box for filming day

INTIMACY COORDINATOR FILMING PROCESS

  •  Check in with performers to makes sure everyone is prepared

  • Check in with costume for modesty garments and make up if needed

  • Check in with director, establishing how they would like to work with me, whether it be as a resource, a collaborator or intimacy choreographer

  • Provide barriers and expertise for movement during intimate scenes

  • Attend block rehearsal and technical rehearsal

  • Any changes to movement need to be discussed with actors

  • Ensure closed set protocols are followed by everyone

  • Be present on set during scenes with nudity or simulated sex

  • To provide a Set Report for every scene of intimacy.
